Walk the Lesmurdie Falls

First of all there are a couple of ways to start this Lesmurdie Falls walk-Mundy Regional Park. You can start at the Welshpool Rd East and turn onto Lesmurdie Rd and follow that until you reach Falls Rd. There is a carpark there, a toilet and tables and seats. There was a van that was selling food and drinks on my return so a purchase of some food was in order.

The Lesmurdie Falls is the largest and most epic of all the waterfalls in Perth. Today, there was a lot of water, wildflowers and bird life so the walk was spectacular. The view of the Perth city from the top was great as it was a perfect clear morning. Due to the Valley Loop trail not being very well signed posted I didn’t walk this trail. However, the other trails were sufficiently sign posted and I walked those.

There are several walks in this area and the longest being 3kms.

The list of walks are:

  • The Falls Trail. 640m return, Class 2, allow 30 min.
  • The Shoulder Trail. 1.5km return, Class 3, allow 1hr.
  • The Cascade Trail. 300m return, Class 3, allow 30 min.
  • The Foot of the Falls Trail. 2km return, Class 3, allow 1hr.
  • The Valley Loop Trail. 3km return, Class 3, allow 2hrs.
