Hyden-Wave Rock-Western Australia

Hyden-Wave Rock-Western Australia is famous for the “Wave Rock” formation. Certainly worth the visit. We viewed it at night and early in the morning, we climbed over the top. I believe you must see it both morning and night. The morning was very foggy for us but this added to the experience.

Wave Rock is only 4km east of Hyden and is in a 280ha bush reserve. Good walking paths and easy to walk. The circuit around the rock is approx 3.6kms and virtually flat. The trail markers define the route so it is recommended to walk anti-clockwise.

Along this walk you will see ‘Hippo Yawn’, bird life, animals and in the spring wild flowers. The climbed to the top was relatively easy. However, it was foggy for us so couldn’t see very far but the experience was still great. We enjoyed taking photos of the glow of the orange morning sun on the rocks.

There is a fee to enter this park and this is paid at the caravan park.

We stayed at the Hyden Hotel and we were pleasantly surprised. Very clean and the beds and pillows were great!
